Our Watercolor Workshop at the historic Setauket Neighborhood House this past June was a sold-out success!

Foster & Flourish cofounder Bonnie Bryant O'Connor was the workshop instructor. Bonnie took watercolor classes in college, and learned that watercolor painting could be a soothing and stress-relieving hobby. It's inexpensive to start and easy to practice. Even if you're not an experienced illustrator, you can still create beautiful abstract watercolor paintings with no formal art training. When painting with watercolors, you need to learn to let go - to let the paint and water do their thing on the paper.

This workshop had one simple rule: no comparing your work to the work of others, and no complaining about how "bad" your painting is! Bonnie started our workshop with watercolor basics. Students would use these basics later in the class to create their final painting.

Each student was singularly talented, and everyone had a ton of fun. We had delicious sparkling rosé, and incredible donuts from East Main & Main in Port Jefferson. The talented Tessie Reveliotis shot stunning photos. Thanks to Jessica Brennan of Whimsy B Paperie for her help, too! One lucky guest won a tote bag full of goodies from Bonnie's super-cute online shop! It was an incredible event, filled with creativity, talent, and learning!
